My Dad is HOME!!

YEAH!! My Dad flew home tonight. He left Lagos, Nigeria yesterday afternoon and after 40 hours of travel he finally arrived in Denver. Unfortunately, his bags did not arrive with him. They were apparently left in Cincinnati, OH and should be delivered to our house sometime tonight or tomorrow morning. Poor guy was SO tired and only wanted to eat and go straight to bed. His poor eyes were so bloodshot. But he was so excited to see Shawn and just wanted to hold him and talk to him. Tomorrow is going to be a fun day for them as they spend time together when they are oth awake! HA. But Praise God that he arrived safely and in relatively good health.

Yes, that is a major accomplishment traveling internationally. Especially into the parts of Africa that he travels to. He and his travel mates were in a car accident about 10 days ago. The african preacher they were traveling with was trying to pass a large truck and the truck swerved and sent them off into the shoulder. The driver over-corrected and sent them into the on-coming traffic lane--luckily there were no cars coming towards them on the VERY busy road. During this ordeal, the car blew two tires and bent both axels. Dad said it was pretty scary, and he is usually pretty mellow about these kind of things. He said the pictures are unbelievable, but I'll have to post them tomorrow. We were asked not to say anything about it until he made it home as they didn't want to frighten the families of his travel companions (Ruth is in her late 60s and her family is concerned for her safety in deep, dark Africa!). But they are all safe and hopefully have all made it home by now.

Thank you God, for keeping a watchful eye over Dad and the others.
