Shawn and his Tonka trucks

My dad and I have been going to yard sales every Saturday. It is so much fun. Kind of like a mini-treasure hunt and you never know what you will find. I have picked up a ton of books, puzzles, toys, etc for Shawn, and my dad is always on the look out for a good deal. Here is one of his latest finds...three Tonka trucks. These are the heavy duty metal ones that we used to play with when I was a kid. We have pictures of my little brother (when he was about 2 or 3) playing with some just like these. This was in the backyard on Thursday.

I hope you enjoy these. :)
This is Shawn's latest funny thing to do. When you say "Hooray" he raises his arms in the air. It is SO cute. :)

Shawn's Great Escape

Here is Shawn's attempt to escape the Baby gates we've put up to keep him corralled. He is such a fast crawler that we had to devise a way to keep him in an enclosed place. Here is a play by play of his attempt to escape. We find it hilarious!

Hope you enjoyed this as much as we enjoyed watching it. I'm sure it won't be the last attempt! :)

The Month of April -- part 2

Well, April was pretty busy for us.

1. Our local World Bible School teachers had noticed a need for Bibles in the country of Zimbabwe. So, they decided to do a fundraiser to buy Bibles and send them to their students there. My parents and I were recruited to assist with the effort due to our time in Africa and our extensive work with World Bible School. So on Sunday, April 27th, my Mom and I spoke to the kids class during church service. We educated them about the country of Zimbabwe and of the need there. The kids were challenged to raise money for the effort during the month of May. During the month of June, the adults were challenged to bring in donations and support the church's coffee bar.

Here is my Mom speaking to the kids. We brought in a lot of African artifacts for them to look at and play with. Unfortunately, my Mom told the kids that ostrich eggs are very durable and can withstand a lot of things. One little girl decided to put the egg to the test and threw it against the brick wall--needless to say it completely shattered. Oops! :)

Here are the WBS workers: Jon Preskorn, Me, Shawn (on my back), Mom, and Kathy Preskorn

Shawn tied on like a true African baby. I was SO nervous that he was going to fall off--but he had a great time!
